Bill Merging function

Is there a function within ConQuest that will let you merge multiple projects together?

The bill merging feature allows you merge multiple projects together. It will only merge the estimating module.

Go To Tools - Estimating - Bill Merging

There are 2 sets of criteria for merging Jobs.
The first option you are given is to state whether the jobs has a unique bill summary or the same bill summary.

  • Unique: This means you have multiple jobs with different bill titles and bill numbers listed.

    • Example: Job 1 contains bills 1, 2, 3 and job 2 contains bills 4,5,6 which will create a end job with bills 1 - 6 in it.

  • The Same: This normally means a job has been copied or has been created using bill splitting and the bill summaries are identical in both headings and numbers.

    • Example: 2 jobs have the exact same bill summary but user 1 has priced bills 1 and 2 and user 2 has priced bills 3 and 4. When merged the new job will have all 4 bills priced and resourced

Once you have made this selection you are given the following options:

  1. Does your project contain dims? Yes/No

  2. Does your project contain resources? Yes/No

  3. You are then asked what to do should duplicate items occur:

    • Skip

    • Copy

    • Prompt

  4. You are then prompted with a enter job name window. This is the name of the finished merged Job.

  5. You are then given the project list, You need to find the first project to be merged and double click it (Note: it looks as though nothing happens, It leaves the project window open)

  6. Complete this action for any other jobs you want to merge and then press the X in the top right corner of the window.

  7. Pressing the X brings you to the bill merging window. If you are happy with the information on the right window click OK on the left window. This will start the merge process.

  8. It is at this point you will be given the prompt options. If you chose the prompt function it will state you have the same resource in the 2 merge sections it will ask you which resource you want to keep in the final merged Job.

  9. Once finished the merged job will be listed in the project window.

Note: If you wish to merge bills which have the same main bills but differing sub-bills within them, the best approach is to change one job's bill numbers, merge as unique and then change the sub-bills numbers to get them into the right place.
