The bill splitting function allows you to split a current project into sections so others can price and resource them as we do not advise multiple users work on the job at the same time.
DO NOT create comparisons on the split sections if you want to merge them back together at a later date as comparisons cannot be merged.
When using bill splitting you need to use your flag feature.
First, check that you have enough flags which you are not otherwise using to account for each split section. Flag all the items you want to split into the first job with one flag, the items for the second with another etc.
Once you have a job that has been flagged you can complete the bill splitting function.
Go to Tools then Estimating and choose Bill Splitting
You will be prompted with a series of queries: 'Does your project contain dims?'
'Does your project contain resources?'You are then prompted with a enter new Job Name Window. This is the name of the first split job you are creating:
Once you have entered a name and pressed OK you are given the search window. You need to set the search criteria to determine which items you are going to split from your current project into the new split section. Tick the appropriate flag.
When you press OK you repeat the function of entering a job name, this is because you can split the job multiple times using different search criteria each time. Once you have split the job as many times as you need you press the X on the top right of the name window to be taken into the bill split function.
If everything is correct there is an OK button on the left of the window that you need to press. This will complete the bill splitting process and return you to the project window where your new jobs will be listed.
