Cost Codes setup/allocation

How are Cost Codes setup and allocated within the ConQuest application?

Written by Sunil

These are codes allocated to resources within the library. Once these resources are pulled through to the BoQ and they become Job Resources you can produce a Cost Report or Export for the resources in the job.

This is a Manual Process and you will need to know the Library Password as the Cost code information is stored within the Library that is active at the time.

Cost Codes are limited currently to 7 characters with 2 delimiters, the mask can be set under Options, Other options, Cost Code mask.

Create Cost Code Headings:

  1. Log in with Library access

  2. Select Library, Codes, Cost Code Headings, Allow Changes. You must have a Unique Code and a description for each, to enter them type into the first blank cell.

  3. Once the Cost Code list is created they need to be allocated to the resources.

Allocating Resources in the Library

  1. Log in with Library Access

  2. Select Library, Resources, Job Resources, Allow Changes

  3. Ensure the Cost Code column is active (right click on column header, Select Columns, tick Cost Code)

  4. Double clicking the Cost Code Cell opens the list of Cost Codes available. Double click to add the Code to the cell and move down to the next for a quick entry. Once a Code has been added use the F3 Key to copy for groups of resources with the same code.

Allocating Resources in the Project Resources

  1. Double click on the Resource Buildup window to open the Job Resource Window

  2. Select Allow Changes

  3. Double clicking the Cost Code Cell opens the list of Cost Codes available. Double click to add the Code to the cell and move down to the next for a quick entry. Once a Code has been added use the F3 Key to copy for groups of resources with the same code

You can manually type the Cost Codes into the cell, doing this means they are treated as a wildcard entry and there will be no descriptions on any reports for those codes.

Projects created before the Cost Codes will not have Codes allocated to Resources already pulled in from the library, they would have to be manually pulled in using the above steps. Any new projects would have the Cost Codes allocated by default
