When selecting a file within ConQuest, a file picker appears like below.
This window shows you the available locations to select a file.
This PC | This refers to the server running ConQuest within Access Hosting. |
Network | This is your company’s network and within here you’ll see Client\ which is your local PC or laptop. |
Copy files to Access Hosting
There are two ways to copy files to Access Hosting:
The File Manager Workspace app.
Copy and paste within a ConQuest file picker.
File Manager Workspace app
The File Manager app is a simple to use app in Access Workspace. It’s the main recommended way to upload files.
In the top-right corner of Access Workspace, click Add App.
In the Filter by Product box, search for File Manager, then highlight it be clicking it.
Click Add to Workspace.
If you can’t find the app, get your organisation’s administrator to check you’ve got the rights to use it within Members.
You can then use the File Manager app to view and upload files to Access Hosting, where you can then use them within ConQuest.
This app supports clicking and dragging files, uploading folders, downloads and deleting files.
Copy and paste within a ConQuest file picker
Copying and pasting within a ConQuest file picker is also available as an alternative option. It’s not as intuitive to use but it can be a useful method.
Open the file picker within ConQuest for the type of file you’re looking to work with.
Note: The file picker only shows file of the type that the import process uses. In the example for Trade Bill Import, it only shows Excel files
Within the network, browse to the location where the file is currently.
Right-click on the file and click Copy.
Browse to the location where you want to put the file, usually My Documents or Project Documentation.
Right-click and click Paste.
The file copies over to the new location, for larger files this may take a while. You can then select and use the file as normal in ConQuest.
Store files within Access Hosting
When working with ConQuest in Access Workspace, you can also store files within Access Hosting. This isn’t normally necessary, but it can be a convenient place to keep them when working with ConQuest.
Within Access Hosting, there’s two recommended locations for you to put files:
My Documents
Project Documentation
My Documents
Like the name suggests, this is a location for you to store your files within Access Hosting.
No other users can use these files, so this location is ideal for files that you don’t want anyone else to view or use. It can also be a useful temporary location when transferring files.
You can find it here:
Project Documentation
Project Documentation is the other recommended location for you to place files. Any other users who have access to Access ConQuest for your organisation can use this location. You should use it for file you need to share and work on with multiple people.
You can find it here:
Note: In the example above TST997_CONQ01 is the name of the ConQuest server. You may see this slightly differently, and there may be multiple ConQuest servers or folders if in use by your organisation.
