Many users have a network setup and this allows users to open Projects that are already being worked on.
If a Project is opened and someone is already working on it a notification is displayed stating the following warning:
Project XXXX is in use by (User Name) on (Machine Name). Please be aware that if more than one person makes changes in Estimating, Enquiries, or Valuations on the same project at the same time it may become corrupt.
Press cancel to return to the Projects Register. OK/Cancel
Clicking OK will let the user into either the Estimating or Valuations module by default.
Regardless of licences the following is true for users wanting to work within the same project:
Only one person can be in the Estimating or Valuations module of a given project without causing issues.
Multiple people can work on a project's comparisons, so long as they are working with different trades. Trades in use will be locked to all other users - this is the only hard lock the product employs. This does not mean the rest of the rules can be ignored!
It is not possible to update the comparisons into the estimate while anyone else has the project open. Once your colleagues have exited the project, you will need to make the project current again to be able to do this.
Only one person can use the Enquiries at a time.
Each module in Q-Series will lock different modules on the users key. There must be enough licences for the module being used on the key in order to gain access.
