There are a few different options for working off-site.
1. Locally:
Users would have a Network setup for use in the Office and a separate Local Login to run locally. To run completely locally, you would need to have a Single Licence connected to the machine.
Projects would need to be zipped from the Network Version and imported into the Local Version.
The version of the Library would need to be manually copied to the Local setup whenever changes have been made, as Libraries cannot be out of sync.
Note: Online enquiries cannot be zipped as part of the Zip Project function and so cannot be used locally. If running a local login, only Estimating, Comparisons and Valuations can be used.
On-Screen Takeoff projects cannot be zipped at all, so if you have a local licence provided for OSTO, any measuring done with it will be completely isolated.
2. RDS/Terminal Services/Citrix:
Remote users can connect to an office machine to run the application.
Users would need to remote in to an RDS or Citrix server to run the application; there is a specific configuration needed to do this.
Note:
A network Licence Key is required to run ConQuest remotely. Single Keys will not launch the application.
All Modules would be available, and no zipping and unzipping of Projects would be needed with this option.
We do NOT recommend working on a VPN connection; running ConQuest this way can lead to data corruptions or worse, a loss of data.
Tip: If VPN is the only option available, users will need to ensure they take regular backups of the project through the Tools menu, Zip, Current Project function and should also be using Check Job from the Tools menu regularly to fix any corruption which has occurred before it becomes too serious to repair this way.
