What are Stored Items for?
If you have spent some time building up a complicated item rate, say for forming an opening or for a manhole construction, you can store the item for later use in the current or subsequent tenders. This can be done using the store and load facilities.
This stores only the resource and quantity. If a resource already exists in the project, that rate will be used. If it has not yet been used, the library rate will be used.
The store option appears on the top menu bar on the Estimating View window.
The load option appears on the top menu bar on the Estimating View window and on the Add/Insert Item window.
Items can only be loaded into jobs which use the same library as the job which the item was stored from. Example: a job created on ROCK can only load in a Stored Item that has been stored from a previous ROCK job. A message would be received when the library does not match.
You cannot store items containing cloned resources.
Store and Load can be used as a cut and paste facility. Set up a title line in the Store function for “Cut and Paste” and use it like the note pad in windows. Items will not be automatically deleted when you store another in the cut and paste heading so you should clear it out from time to time using the delete option.
If a colleague has created their own set of Stored Items and you wish to also be able to access these, if their Stored Items location is on a shared location, you can change your Stored Items location to match theirs in Options, Folders, Stored Items. If you have a set which you wish to share with your colleagues, check where they are located in the Options and if they are on your c: drive, copy them to a new folder on the ConQuest network drive, alter your options to point to this location and get your colleagues to do the same.
📌Note: A blank set of stored items can be provided, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.
