Zipping Projects and retaining Library resources

A ConQuest Project can be zipped and sent to a colleague or customer also running ConQuest. They must have the same library to open the Project with.

Whilst the Projects can be opened on different versions of a library with the same name, it is not advisable: Where possible the project should be opened on the same version of the library it was created on. If resources have been added to a library and used in the Project and the project is opened on a version of the library which does not have these, this will cause issue on the project, such as removal of resources, alteration of rates, or substituting resources with other resources.

You cannot have two instances of the same named library in the Libraries section of the Options, ConQuest will only ever use the first instance it finds, so you will need to change where the system is looking for that library. DO NOT OVERWRITE THE ORIGINAL LIBRARY: Put the copy in its own folder, ideally with a descriptive name, so for example, if the standard library is ROCK, the one from another company may be ROCK-client.

To Zip a library

  • Open ConQuest

  • Tools, Zip, Current Library

  • Save the file and send it on

There is no library import or unzip within ConQuest, it must be done through windows to the desired folder location.
