Estimating: View in Excel function

The View in Excel function will export any information visible in the Grid at the time. It will display Items, Page Collections, Bill Heading Summary and General Summary information in a tabbed document.

If you have additional Columns visible you can temporarily clear these before using the Export function. Right click on any Column Header, select Columns and untick the Columns you do not want to export.

You can perform a Search within the Estimating module for example: Flagged items, Act Codes etc. and these items can then be exported to Excel.

To export the Project

  1. Open Estimating,

  2. Select the View In Excel icon on the top right of the view window.

  3. Press OK, save file.

To export the Bill Items with the Buildup information

  1. Open Estimating,

  2. Select the View In Excel icon on the top right of the view window.

  3. Tick to include buildup

  4. Press OK, save file.

  5. The Buildup information will be collapsed under each item, use the Plus to view individual items or toggle between the numbers on the top left to view all.

To export the Items for a specific Resource and Cost

  1. Open Estimating,

  2. Select the View In Excel icon on the top right of the view window.

  3. Tick to include buildup

  4. Select , Resource Filter select the Resource you require

  5. Press OK, save file.

  6. The Buildup information will be collapsed under each item and will only contain the Pricing information for the resource selected. Use the Plus to view individual items or toggle between the numbers on the top left to view all.


Note: Because the column widths are determined by the item section, some data in the buildup section may appear in extremely narrow columns, such as the Types, and not be immediately visible.
