Error: 'This project does not have any files' when trying to open a project

On the Projects tab, in the Files Exist column, the check box for each\certain Projects is unchecked. When trying to access any of these Projects the following message is displayed: Could Not Make Project Current This project does not have any files.

If you are getting the above error message, then it means the Project Directory folder cannot or could not be opened when ConQuest was launched. To fix this:

  1. In the top right of the Projects Window, the Project Directory field shows the file path where the files are stored.

  2. Copy the file path. In a Network install this will display the Network drive letter the data is mapped to. Default is usually the Q drive.

  3. Close ConQuest.

  4. Open Windows Explorer.

  5. Paste the file path. A mapped network drive should be visible and you should be able to browse down to the Projects Folder. There are various possibilities:

  • If there is a Red cross on the Network drive but the Projects Folder is accessible and it displays as active again relaunch the application and the Files Exist box should now be ticked.

  • If there is no network drive you will need to get IT to map it for you with full read, write and modify permissions.

  • If the mapped drive is visible check the folder is mapped to the correct location as it may be mapped at the wrong level, ie, straight into ConQuest Q Series rather than the folder containing it.

  • If the mapped drive is visible and the location is correct, but the ConQuest Q Series folder or some of its contents are missing, it could have been accidentally deleted or moved. It would be best to check with your IT, as they should be able to view backups to determine if the folder was moved or deleted and get it reinstated.

Note: If a specific project shows no files exist, please continue with a support member
It is possible for the project to be available only locally on the C drive of the person who created it. That would need to be looked at.
If all the projects created by a particular colleague show their location on the C drive, then their installation is not set up correctly.
