Error: 'Joint Resource Description too large...' when searching through the library on version 5

I'm receiving the error Joint Resource Description too large. Truncating Resource Description when searching in the library.

The above error message is shown when you have linked resources (Materials and Composites) that have a combined character total of 40 characters.

If you search using the Filter All function it will display an error for every instance of a linked resource containing more than 40 characters.

To fix the error:

  1. Locate the linked material which means going through and performing a search on each Material section until you receive the error.

  2. Locate the Material Title Heading and select Allow Changes in top right.

  3. You can then click on the View button which will show all linked resources to the title by changing color.

  4. The easiest way to test for the error is to highlight the Title and the Resource so they are both highlighted.

  5. Select Break and try to relink it. It will give you a notification if the resource name is too long and it will need to be amended to be 40 characters or less.

The workaround is to use the Filter Type function on the Search window so you only search in the Resource Type area you need, such as Subcontractors or Labour rather than Filter All which searches every section.
